Yi Ding has been playing Guzheng for 28 years and is also a Guzheng teacher. In 2021, she formed Yi Zhiyin with her students. She has Advanced Teacher Certification of Central Conservatory of Music. In last seven years, she kept being rewarded as Excellent Instructor of Central Conservatory of Music Chinese Instrument Grade Examination.

Christy Meng (孟慧寒), embarked on a journey into the world of Guzheng under the guidance of instructor Ding in 2018. Since then, she has been entranced by the captivating melodies of this ancient instrument. Demonstrating her commitment to mastery, Christy has achieved Guzheng Level 6 from China's Central Conservatory of Music and is currently progressing towards Level 7.

Jenifer started learning how to play the Chinese Zither as a hobby. She is pursuing Grade 8 examination and loves to play for local communities, performing on different stages, collaborating with various musicians, and sharing the beauty of an ancient Chinese music instrument.

Annie has always wanted to play an instrument growing up but never had the opportunity or the time. After seeing Ms. Ding perform, she fell in love with the beautiful Guzheng. Even when she struggles with being a busy business owner and mom of two, she always perseveres and contributes to the ensemble.

Loren started to play the Guzheng in 2018 when her mother encouraged her to try the instrument. She soon fell in love with the Guzheng’s beautiful tone and has since played for 7 years and is on her way to achieving a level 9 certificate.

Emma took a step into the world of Chinese traditional music at the age of 7, when she fell in love with the Guzheng because of the cultural connection she felt– not to mention, the lessons were always engaging, and she enjoys creating unique music through fun times with friends.

Julia started learning to play the Guzheng at age 5. She enjoys playing the Guzheng, because she loves the community, as each player around her is super nice, whether they are 5 or 50.

Entian was encouraged to play the Guzheng at a young age. She is a passionate player and a member that instantly lightens the mood whenever she's here.

Ryan Tao is a percussionist at the Yi Zhiyin Guzheng Ensemble. He plays both Western and traditional Chinese percussion, bringing power and precision to every performance. He is also a devoted guzheng player, blending rhythm and melody in both traditional and modern styles.

Tashi Palmo is a dedicated member to the ensemble’s percussion section, playing the accordion and percussion. Tashi sees music as a way to connect people across generations and cultures.
